more than 1,700 Delegates from 53 countries, the WAEA 23rd
Annual Conference & Exhibition - 24-27 September in Seattle,
Washington -- proved to be the second largest in the association's
history.
Representatives
from 60 airlines and 178 vendor companies enjoyed educational
sessions covering "IFE Branding Strategies" to "Wireless Technologies"
to the latest options in "Single-Aisle IFE," "Audio-Video-On-Demand,"
and "Inflight Audio Formats."
Meanwhile,
the WAEA Exhibition Hall - featuring more than 160 booths
and demos - gave delegates firsthand experience with the latest
in inflight connectivity and e-mail/Internet access … satellite
broadcast transmissions … fully interactive IFE systems …
high-end video displays, headphones, and handsets … inseat
power … and an endless array of audio/video content spanning
feature films, television/short-subject, news, sports, documentaries,
and more.
Daniel P. Mooney, Vice President of Product Development for
Boeing Commercial Airplanes, served as the opening Keynote
Speaker … and launched the four-day event on a distinctly
positive note.
The
delegation also enjoyed many daytime and evening Networking
Opportunities, including a visit to Seattle's Experience Music
Project.
The
Annual Conference culminated in the WAEA Annual Gala Banquet
and the presentation of the 14th Annual Avion Awards … where
Qantas Airways took home top honors for "Best Overall IFE."
