Creative Content Strategies for Today's Systems
Albert de Wet (South African Airways), Jose Asiain (TransVision On Board Entertainment & Media Sales), and John Bruckman (InterAct Network, Inc.).

de Wet addressed some of the challenges and solutions of offering IFE, especially AVOD, across a diverse fleet with multiple IFE systems and passenger profiles, concluding that: "AVOD is worth the financial investment, especially on long-haul flights."

Asiain and Bruckman shared their experiences as content service providers in the changing industry. Asiain said the content service provider's role is achieving "professionalism levels not yet known to date" due to the introduction of IFE onto short- and medium-haul flights and the implementation of more sophisticated IFE systems. Airlines and vendors must learn how to use professionalism and creativity to offer video programming that satisfies the passenger entertainment needs, increases the perception level of the airline's service, and perhaps even generates advertising revenue.
