Visa/Customs
If you are a citizen of a non-EU state and wish to enter the Federal Republic of Germany or another EU member state, you must be in possession of a valid passport and in many cases a visa. Please be sure to obtain your visa from the relevant authorities in good time: it may take up to a few months for your application to be processed.
The following countries DO NOT require a visa for entry into Germany :
Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Australia (including the Cocos Islands, Norfolk Island, Christmas Island), Belgium, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France (including French Guyane, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Martinique, New Caledonia, Réunion, St Pierre and Miquelon), Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hongkong( for holders of SAR passports), Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand (including the Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau), Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain (including Spanish territories in North Africa with Ceuta and Melilla), Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (including the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and Bermuda), United States of America (including Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico), Uruguay, Vatican City, Venezuela.
As an EU citizen you can enter any EU member state without a visa. As a rule all you need is a valid identity card or passport.
Customs Regulations - Travelers are permitted to import goods to EU member states provided the goods are intended for private use, they do not exceed the permitted amounts and value limits, and no import ban or specific restrictions apply to them.
