Getting There    

Miami International Airport (MIA), one of the busiest airports in the world, is served by over 100 airlines carrying over 20 million passengers to and from 160 cities worldwide. MIA has over 15 domestic airlines and 35 international airlines servicing the airport offering over 100 nonstop flights to North, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Europe. There are 500,000 take-offs and landings each year.

Located nine miles (14 kilometers) northwest of Miami , Miami International Airport is one main terminal building with eight concourses (A - H) with 147 gates. Each concourse has a wide selection of restaurants, bars, newsstands, shops and other business services.

Miami International Airport Ground Transportation

Map Miami and Airport Ground transportation for travelers arriving at Miami International Airport is available only on a prior arrangement basis, except for taxis and the airport SuperShuttle. Information on all ground transportation is available from the Miami-Dade County Aviation personnel, dressed in blue.

Taxi and Limousine Services

Taxi cabs are only available on the ARRIVAL (ground) level of the airport terminal, outside of the baggage claim area. MIA has wheelchair-accessible taxicabs available upon request. Limousine services are also available upon prior request.

Taxi rate from Miami International Airport to Miami Beach Convention Center is approx. $24-$32 . Taxi rates are $1.70 for the first 1/11 mile and $0.20 for each additional 1/11 of a mile. Transportation rates vary, depending on your destination. Fares are subject to change.

Additional rates for taxi and shuttle service are posted on the transportation kiosks located on the ground level of the terminal, outside the baggage claim area. You can also speak to the Aviation Department representatives at the curbside, dressed in blue uniforms.

SuperShuttle and Bus Services
SuperShuttle vans are available only on the ARRIVAL (ground) level at Miami International Airport , outside of the baggage claim areas. Ground transportation via SuperShuttle is available 24 hours per day. The SuperShuttle bus service takes travelers to destinations within Miami. An airport SuperShuttle can also transports passengers to bus and railway stations. The number for SuperShuttle information and reservations is (305) 871-2000.

For other routes, travelers can travel by Metro-Dade Transit Department Buses (Metrobus). This local city bus service, provides scheduled services to all areas of Miami-Dade County. All buses stop and collect passengers at the Concourse E Level 1 bus station, directly across from Customs.

•  Take the Alton Rd exit 5 - go  0.5 mi

•  Turn left at Dade Blvd - go  0.3 mi
•  Turn right at Convention Center Dr - go  0.2 mi

Train Services
Metro-Rail -
the mass-transit, fixed-rail system, provides direct, local transportation to areas throughout Miami-Dade County.

Metro-Mover - t he "Downtown-Specific" fixed-rail system service, which provides transportation to popular locations in the Downtown Miami and Brickell areas.

Tri-Rail - the Commuter Train service, runs along Interstate 95, providing commuter service to the airport from Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The Airport Station is immediately east of the airport, across Le Jeune Road (42 Avenue) on NW 21st Street. Bus connections to the Tri-Rail Airport Station are available from the bus station. Metro-Bus also provides free shuttle bus service to the airport terminal for passengers with a valid Tri-Rail ticket. Based in Hollywood, Florida, the airport is approximately 25 to 30 minutes north of Miami Beach. The airport is serviced by many major domestic airlines and international carriers.
