Portables
IFE Portable entertainment devices are here to stay! Since their introduction in 2002, over 40 airlines have chosen them to play a part or as a total IFE solution. In addition, an increasing number of passengers are bringing their own devices onboard and therefore airlines and IFE systems manufacturers are under pressure to offer integration and/or a more enhanced passenger experience on their embedded in-seat systems. In this four part session, you will learn how to choose a portable device for your airline based on different revenue generation models and business case scenarios. Hear what airlines currently using portables have to say about passenger satisfaction, take up rates, content availability and reliability. Learn what's coming for next-generation products in terms of user experience, content, applications and connectivity. We will also discuss the integration of personal devices with the onboard product mix with perspectives from both the airlines and hardware vendors. Speakers: Wale Adepoju (IMDC), Doug Backelin (American Airlines), Michael Childers (IMS), Jackie Frimer (Interact), Scott Ralston (Thales Avionics, Inc.), Murray Skelton (Phantom Media Ltd.), Brent Wood (digEcor)
Moderator: Sarah Fitzmaurice (Flight Level Media, Ltd.)
