Matthew Frank, Managing Director, RDF Rights
Matthew will present an overview of the programme development and commissioning process, highlighting broadcast trends, and discussing where parallels may be drawn with the expectations of the inflight audience. Matthew will summarise the influence of new terms of trade introduced in the UK, and the effect that these may have on how shows are produced and packaged for secondary markets, such as IFE, DVD, and web-based content.
RDF’s distribution business began
in 1994 producing and selling a
modest number of short news and
business features. Since then it
has expanded to become one of the UK’s leading independent
distributors of factual entertainment programming. RDFI
distributes on behalf of the BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5 and
over 50 independent production companies, managing a
catalogue of over 1500 hours of programming.
Prior to becoming RDFR’s Managing Director, Matthew
was a freelance radio journalist, contributing primarily to
Radio 4 and 5.
